My name is Denise Magson-Lee and I’m a professionally trained celebrant. Having qualified with the International College of Professional Celebrants
I specialise in creating bespoke ceremonies that are truly personal to you.
As a celebrant I will listen and learn from you to make your event one that reflects you. I am passionate about helping you achieve a unique and personalised ceremony for your significant occasion. I work In York and all over North Yorkshire! Wedding Celebrant

Funeral Celebrant
Losing someone you love is one of life’s most painful and challenging experiences. I understand this deeply, having lost my first husband in my early 40s. In the early days of grief, there is so much to process, and making arrangements can feel overwhelming. My role as a funeral celebrant, working alongside your funeral team, is to support you and your family through this time. I will help you reflect on your loved one’s life in a way that feels right for you. Together, we will create a heartfelt and meaningful tribute that truly honours their memory A ceremony which I will deliver with warmth and feeling.
Baby naming Celebrant
Few moments in life are as joyful as welcoming a new baby into the world. Those first few weeks can be a whirlwind, but as things settle, you may find yourself wanting to celebrate your little one’s arrival with your closest family and friends. My mission as a baby naming celebrant is to create a beautiful, meaningful ceremony that reflects your family’s unique bond, A ceremony filled with love, joy, and special moments to cherish forever.
Vow Renewal Celebrant

Whether you’re celebrating a special anniversary or simply want to reaffirm your love, a vow renewal is a beautiful way to honour your journey and strengthen your promises for the future. As a vow renewal celebrant I will work with you to create a meaningful and personal ceremony in the venue of your choice, reflecting your unique bond and the life you’ve built together.
A little bit more about me and my journey to become a Celebrant
Born and raised in North Yorkshire, I’ve lived and worked in London, New Zealand and Australia. But this beautiful part of the world has always had my heart, and I’ve been happily settled in the historic city of York for many years, although I still love to travel as you can see from this recent photo of me in India!
My career path has been wonderfully varied – I first trained and worked as a nurse before taking a leap into hospitality, running a small hotel with my late husband. Later, I switched gears again to become the Marketing and Admissions Manager at the Northern College of Acupuncture. The common thread through all these roles? People! I love meeting new people, building connections, and bringing others together. This is something that continues to inspire me in my work as a celebrant.
