My name is Denise Magson-Lee, and I’m a professionally trained celebrant.
I qualified with the International College of Professional Celebrants.
I specialise in creating bespoke ceremonies that are truly personal and meaningful.

I know this personally, having lost my first husband in my early 40s.

As a funeral celebrant, I’ll support you and your family during this emotional time. I work alongside your funeral director to ensure everything runs smoothly and with care.
Together, we’ll create a meaningful tribute that honours your loved one’s life and legacy. I will lead the ceremony with warmth, empathy, and respect.

A little bit more about me and my journey to become a Celebrant
I was born and raised in North Yorkshire and have also lived in London, New Zealand, and Australia.
York has been my home for many years, but I still love to travel whenever I can!
Before becoming a celebrant, I worked in nursing, hospitality, and higher education.
I ran a small hotel with my late husband and later worked in marketing and admissions.
The one constant throughout my life and work? A love of people and connection.
Meeting new people and, as a celebrant working in York and across Yorkshire, helping people celebrate life’s big moments is what I truly love.
